Reduce Plastic is one of the initiatives of the Church of God’s ASEZ WAO young professionals. By carrying out cleanups and seminars, ASEZ WAO volunteers not only make efforts to reduce pollution but also raise awareness about the negative effects of plastic on the environment. They also explain what everyone in the community can do to preserve and save the earth. Most recently, ASEZ WAO held a Take Action to Reduce Plastic Seminar at the Office of Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. Guest speakers included Sustainable Development Officer Xin Feng from the Division for SDGs at the United Nations and New York City Council Member Antonio Reynoso of the 34th District. Among the topics of discussion were microplastics’ effect on wastewater and methods for improving sustainability.

ASEZ WAO members held the Environmental Protection Forum for a Sustainable Future to discuss ways to reduce plastic waste and reverse its damaging effects on the environment.
ASEZ WAO volunteers removed 130 bags of trash from the Heritage Trail in Middletown, NY. State Senator Jennifer Metzger and State Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther both attended the cleanup in support of ASEZ WAO’s Take Action Project.
