“Mother’s Street” Cleanup at Contant Park

ASEZ continued their mission to “Save the Earth from A to Z,” this time holding a “Mother’s Street” cleanup at Contant Park in Union County, New Jersey. Approximately, 19 university students joined together on October 28, 2018 for a volunteer cleanup at Conant Park in Hillside, NJ. The cleanup was conducted as part of ASEZ’s international “Reduce Crime Together” movement for human happiness.

Conant Park is a popular recreational space among local residents and families. However, due to accumulated litter, the park’s beauty began to diminish. Following the example of Heavenly Mother, local ASEZ members made it their mission to bring joy to their neighbors by cleaning up Contant Park.

The ASEZ volunteers gathered at Contant Park at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. They met with Betty Anne Kelly, the Director of the Adopt-a-Park Program, who encouraged them, letting them know how much the county appreciates their community service. Furthermore, she guided the volunteers to the park areas that needed the most work.

The university students proceeded to clean the park with bright smiles on their faces—knowing that their actions will help make the community a more inviting and safer place. In under two hours, the volunteers collected 30 bags of garbage.

Ms. Kelly was so grateful and moved by the efficiency and unity displayed by the volunteers. Moreover, the volunteers were also moved by the cleanup and gave thanks to God for allowing them to contribute to the betterment of their community. For two of the volunteers, this was their first ASEZ cleanup; they expressed feeling encouraged after participating in the event.

“It’s amazing to be around people who are working towards a common good in whatever way they can,” said Anna, one of the volunteers from Villanova University.

Not only in Union County, but all around the world, college students are abuzz, participating in the ASEZ “Mother’s Street” and “Reduce Crime Together” activities. Contact us to learn more about how you can contribute to the well-being of your community, country, and even the world.
