Church of God Volunteers Receive CERT Training

The Township of Belleville, which means Beautiful City in French, is in Essex County, New Jersey. The town is known for its cherry blossoms that bring in tourists from around the nation every year.
In the same way, the Church of God in Belleville also brings its community together through its volunteerism and family-friendly events.
ASEZ students from universities and colleges in the area, such as New Jersey City University, Rutgers University, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, come together to help reduce crime in their community through various volunteer activities and forums. Student volunteers host cleanups, graffiti removal projects and awareness raising events with the belief that reducing the visible signs of crime will reduce its likelihood.

The Metlife Stadium parking lot was as lively as a pregame tailgate as 200 Church of God donors came in their signature yellow shirts to donate blood at the Super Bowl Mega Blood Drive.
Members came out to serve seniors at the Bergen County Senior Picnic in Paramus, NJ where Governor Christie thanked them for their community service work after Hurricane Sandy.
The Church of God held the Unity in the Community Blood Drive to spread awareness of the importance of donating blood.
Volunteers spent days assisting residents in the northern New Jersey town of Pompton Lakes who were in desperate need of help after the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Irene.
Church volunteers participated in the 10th Annual North New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks, helping out with event registration and games for children.
