Bergen County, the most populated county in New Jersey, is said to derive its name from the Dutch word for “place of safety.” Here, too, the Church of God in Ridgewood has actively worked to ensure the safety and well-being of their neighbors.
In 2013, more than 1,200 members received training as first responders. Members were also instrumental in helping those affected by Hurricane Sandy. And today, local ASEZ university students unite to Reduce Crime Together through cleanups and graffiti removal in the area. This is all in addition to the countless Bible seminars, festivals and family events they have hosted for almost two decades, bringing the Bergen County community together.
