World Mission Society Church of God volunteers walking and cheering during the 2011 Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Walk Now for Autism Speaks 2011

World Mission Society Church of God members from multiple branch churches along the East Coast volunteered their time and enthusiasm to assist the 10th Annual North New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks. More than 5,500 participants gathered on the Bergen Community College campus in Paramus, NJ on Sunday, May 22, 2011 to raise funds for autism research, advance advocacy, provide family services and raise autism awareness.

Volunteers partnered with Autism Speaks to execute event operations: registering walkers, hosting children’s entertainment stations and even encouraging teams by walking with them. Walk participants passionately thanked the Church of God volunteers for their help and support and even requested them to come again next year exclaiming, “We want you back!”

By engaging in this activity, the members proactively lived Heavenly Mother’s teachings of servitude, unity and love. With one heart and mind, they worked in unison to deliver Mother’s love to everyone involved–resulting in a beautiful experience for the volunteers, walk participants and staff.
