On November 17, 2024, the 1,555th Passover Blood Drive for Life took place at the APEDI (Association for Development, Inc.) event hall in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Organized by the Church of God in collaboration with Hemocentro Nacional, the event aimed to save lives through blood donations and raise awareness about the critical need for regular blood donation.
Community Leaders Unite for a Great Cause
Throughout the event, participants were reminded of the importance of giving to those in need. Dr. Javiela Tejada from Hemocentro Nacional expressed her gratitude to the Church of God for their volunteerism. She shared, “This is a great contribution, and I encourage other churches and groups to follow this example. With each donation, a life is saved.”
The Church of God members were joined by many local leaders who were happy to support the event. Councilwoman Maryolin Marcelino attended and said, “I am so happy to see so many young people here today, giving meaning to this great event. Christ gave His blood for us, and we want to do the same by giving love to the world through blood donations.”
The event also welcomed local VIPs, including council members, members of congress, and health professionals. Their participation demonstrated strong support for the cause. Among the notable attendees were Leticia Cruz, Daniela Rodríguez, Dr. Manuel Estévez, and many others. Their support helped spread the message of saving lives through voluntary blood donations.
Award Presented to the Church of God
In addition, an award was presented to the Church of God by Dr. Javiela Tejada. It stated: “For the invaluable generosity and altruistic spirit, demonstrated through actions that show a deep commitment to life and well-being, serving as an example worthy of admiration and a reflection of love for their neighbor that guides their hearts.”
