On Friday, January 31, 2025, 20 volunteers from ASEZ, ASEZ WAO, and ASEZ STAR were invited to the Massachusetts State House in Boston by State Representative Rita Mendes. The State House is the central hub for government activities, housing the State Senate, House of Representatives, and the Governor’s office. This event marked the fourth collaboration with Representative Mendes, strengthening the ongoing partnership between ASEZ and local leaders.
Held in the Great Hall of Flags, the volunteers had the opportunity to present about ASEZ’s global impact, uniting individuals of all backgrounds. Attendees included assistants from State Senators and Representatives, university interns, and Representative Mendes’ family and staff. Inspired by ASEZ’s mission, many State House members expressed interest in future involvement by signing up for upcoming events.
Representative Mendes Signs MOU with ASEZ
During the gathering, Representative Mendes formalized the collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), reaffirming her commitment to supporting ASEZ’s efforts. ASEZ WAO volunteer Daniel Casteneda introduced the World Mission Society Church of God and highlighted the initiatives of each ASEZ group. To honor the Church’s 60th anniversary and the volunteers’ global contributions, Representative Mendes presented a citation, praising their dedication to community service. She emphasized, “We have a lot of work ahead of us, really a lot of work with cleaning up the environment… this organization grew so big, and that’s what empowers people to join the cause.”

ASEZ university volunteer Jarumy Palacios shared, “I am so grateful to be a part of ASEZ, which is a light in this world. We are not just cleaning up Boston; we are changing the world, one action at a time.”
The event concluded with volunteers—ranging from high school students to working professionals—engaging with local officials to discuss community needs and explore collaboration opportunities. ASEZ looks forward to continuing these partnerships to further enhance Massachusetts communities through dedicated service.
