ASEZ STAR Green School Campaign at O&M School in Santiago

The students of ASEZ STAR in Santiago organized a meaningful event at O&M School to educate students about recycling and the importance of keeping their school environment clean and eco-friendly.

ASEZ STAR’s Green School Campaign for Sustainability

As part of ASEZ STAR’s international Green School Campaign, this event aimed to raise awareness about sustainability and inspire young students to take part in caring for the environment. The university student volunteers took initiative by building a recycling station and generously donating it to the school. This practical tool will allow students to start recycling right away and develop lasting habits that support a cleaner planet.

In addition to providing the recycling station, the ASEZ STAR team introduced themselves to the students, teachers, and school leaders. They shared the purpose behind ASEZ STAR and explained how their efforts are rooted in their love for God and humankind. By highlighting their various initiatives—from cleanups to awareness campaigns—the students showed how small actions can create a big impact.

The event received special recognition from Marlen J. Curiel, an Educational Researcher and Head of Environmental Education for the Santiago Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Ms. Curiel delivered an informative and encouraging talk about different methods of recycling and how these practices protect the environment. Her support reinforced the value of the students’ efforts and inspired the audience to take recycling seriously.

O&M Students Equipped to Carry Out ASEZ STAR’s Green School Campaign

Now, thanks to ASEZ STAR’s efforts, the students at O&M School understand how to recycle properly and have the tools to do it. This knowledge will benefit not just the school, but also their homes and communities, leading to a cleaner, healthier environment for all.

Most importantly, this event helped shine a light on the values of ASEZ STAR and the Church of God. Students and staff alike learned more about ASEZ STAR’s campaigns and their work around the world. This event planted the first seeds of hope, and students are eager to see them grow in Santiago.
